Just a quick note from my mum:
“We landed safely in Orlando and got to the hotel about five hours later. The delay was due to check in and baggage as it was put on two belts. We were taken off by a long white limo that took us to the dolphin hotel”.

Catching up

My friends are wonderful and are there for me and my family when ever we need them.
I went to a friends house for coffee this morning and she sat and listened to all my woes, hardly saying anything about her life and then gave me a small gift. (Notelets that depicted a fairy on a dragonfly) It was so sweet of her to do that.
Afterwards I went into Plymouth city centre to meet another friend for lunch. She is amazing too, Thankyou to all my special friends, you truly are wonderful people. After saying goodbye to my friend I went to my GPs surgery and had my jabs for Egypt (ouch!) and finalised a few things for Florida.
I am looking forward to spending valuable time with my children and as we are going to Disneyland first, regressing back to my childhood.
I will add some pics when we return and will post on my diary if I can over there, if not, I will do it when I come back.

Fathers day

My Father, Phillip Northmore died on 26th August 2006 of an asbestos related illness. He had pleural plaque which turned to small cell lung cancer. He was 68 years old, far to young to leave this earth and the family that loved him. He left a wife, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren
I miss him terribly, he was a cheerful man with a wicked sense of humour. He loved his old silent films, Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton to name but a few. He was a collector of many quirky things like carrier bags and bubble bath bottles.
He always had great advice to give although a lot of it was ignored when I was younger but a little did get through in later years.
When I started to learn to drive again after leaving it for nearly 12 years, his advice came back into my mind, “always drive for the person in front”. This advice has been at the forefront of my mind since I passed my test in 2003 and I have found it works very well.
My dad was wonderful, he was unique, dignified and honest. He was my dad.
My one of wishes for him would have been to take him to the Canadian Rockies. I didn’t find out until he was very ill that this was his wish.
He was a very quiet man who always said right up until he died that he was fine and there was nothing to worry about.

I love you dad, I always will.
Raise a glass in heavens bar for me dad and I will be raising my glass to you.

Remembering Liptons supermarket

I used to work in a super market called Liptons which was situated in the West Park area of Plymouth.
I worked there for 10 years on the deli counter and left to have my first child. I have had an email from a customers daughter who I used to give a piece of spam which was rolled up and wrapped around coleslaw , the daughter has contacted me and reminded me of this and says how she still loves spam and coleslaw.
The family moved to Stubbington in Portsmouth. I took their address and wrote to them, this was just after they moved. Since then her mother has recognised me from the paper and her daughter got in touch. It is so lovely to hear from people from the past and ignite memories that I had forgotten about. Another coincidence was that she had been working in Orange mobile call centre, Plympton, Plymouth for 10 months! I may well have come across her as that is where I work.

Media coverage

It has been a mad few days, The BBC have been in touch as well as ITV and the herald.
I have also started to look into booking the holiday and will go as soon as possible. The whole family are looking forward to Disneyland Florida and then off to Egypt with The older ones. They are going to love it. It will build some great memories for them and also for me.
We will have a lot of quality time together and do what is important.
If I had a choice of this wonderful holiday and the compensation I would recieve in return for my life as it was, I know which I would choose. This money can never replace my loss.

Disneyland and Egypt here I come!

I recieved an interim payment from the MoD for me to take the family on a well deserved holiday.
I am planning Disneyland Florida with the whole family and Egypt with my older children.
I am so looking forward to seeing my little boys face when he meets some of his heroes. It will be priceless.
Healing session

I have booked another session for us next week and hopefully we will both remember.

Flaxseed granules

My local Tesco store (Transit way Plymouth) has started stocking Flaxseed granules. I am trying this at the moment and am taking 2 tablespoonfuls in juice at breakfast time. I am feeling really well especially after my look good feel better session. I have a new routine with my skin care and makeup. I am feeling much better and have been told I am looking better. Maybe it is a combination of a smart hairdo (wigs!) good makeup and Flazseed granules.
I have some new reading material also which gives a very imformative view on what to eat and what to stay away from. I am going to put it into practice as much as I can.
I have a family which makes it a little more difficult but I don’t think there is any chance they will be helping themselves to my Flaxseed granules : )

Look good, feel better

I went to the look good, feel better session at the mustard tree today. I met a lot of brave lovely people out there and watched them all transform into glamour kittens. It was good fun.
I recieved a goody bag which contained skin care products, eye shadow, lipstick, eye liner the whole works, all donated by different companies. The girls who performed this wonderful service also gave us hand massages.
I highly reccommend taking them up on a session as it is so good to see so many people benefit from something so simple.
Next session is on Friday 8th June. It is a Riaki session which is healing, I will post my findings on the board.
All hospitals have a mustard tree/ Mcmillan centre and can be found by contacting your local hospital and/or Oncology centre.
